Proprietor, Mystique

Namrata Shastri’s passion project Mystique started way back in 1998, through which she became a well-known name for her homemade eggless confections. But what really broke the ground for this woman entrepreneur was the gluten-free raw banana flour called Kadhali, a term used for raw banana in Sanskrit. She started manufacturing and selling the flour four years back. Currently, she sells around 150 packets of the flour every month, priced at #250 for a 500gm pack. As we write, Shastri is winning more over by writing and speaking about it through her blog and YouTube channel.

“This flour can be a great replacement to wheat flour or even the unhealthy refined flour for the gluten-intolerant. To make things simpler, we have posted tutorial videos of making rotis and parathas using Kadhali on YouTube,” Shastri says.

Shastri had topped her Bakery and Confectionery class in Sophia College and went on to master the art of making 3-D figurines using sugar. Initially, she started getting orders from friends and families before setting it up as a full-time business. She even conducts various workshops across the city.

She is an avid food blogger and also maintains a website, mystiqueconfections.com, which also doubles as an e-commerce platform for placing orders at her store.
